Our Mission & Vision
Every Flower & Moon product is handmade in small batches with organic ingredients. Not "natural." Not "plant-inspired." Organic, whole, and chosen for what it does.
Our botanicals are ethically sourced. That means we know where they come from, we know the hands that harvest them, and we pay what the work is worth. It means we say no to ingredients we cannot trace, even when they are cheaper, and even when no one would know the difference but us.
We keep our footprint deliberately small. Small batches. Minimal, considered packaging. Short supply chains where we can build them. Growth that stays in proportion to what we can make well.
The Magic of Science
Here is what I will not do: ask you to choose between the magic and the science.
Everything Flower & Moon creates carries the same potent, evidence-based foundation as every formulation that has ever come out of Ashton Prescott Wellness. I am a holistic nutritionist, formulator and an herbalist. I read the research. I understand bioavailability, extraction, actives, and dosing. I know why a formula works, not just that it feels like it should.
A magnesium spray works because of magnesium. A calming tea works because of the constituents in the plants. The moonlight and the crystal do not replace that — they surround it. Rigor is what makes a product effective. Ritual is what makes you reach for it, night after night, until it becomes part of who you are.
Potency and reverence are not opposites. They never were.
A Letter From Ashton:
A note to the person on the other end of every batch.
I want to tell you something about the moment I create a product. It is almost always late. The house has gone quiet. There is a magical smell of a plant giving up what it has been holding — that green, bitter, honeyed smell that I have never once gotten tired of in the 30 years that I've been formulating. Somewhere in the middle of stirring, I stop thinking about ingredients and start thinking about you. Not you in the abstract. You specifically. The beautiful human who is going to open this jar, light the candle or soak and sip in the herbal magic of it all. I think about your hands. I think about what your shoulders look like at the end of a day when you gave everything away and kept nothing. I think about the fact that you probably have not sat down since morning, that you have been the steady one for everybody, that you have gotten very, very good at being fine. That is who I am making it for. Every time. You do not need to be fixed. There is nothing wrong with you that a product can solve, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you a story about your own inadequacy and charging you for it. What you need — what I think most of us need — is a reason to stop. Something small and physical and slightly ceremonious that interrupts the momentum of a life lived entirely for other people.Water going into a cup. A match. The weight of a stone in your palm. Ten minutes that belong to nobody else. That is all any of this is. Not a fix. A doorway. How it's made by hand, in small batches, with organic ingredients I can trace to the ground they came from and the people who harvested them. With water set out under the full moon. With crystals I have cleansed myself in the Pacific — salt and sand and sun, which cannot be hurried and cannot be delegated. With the same rigor I bring to everything I have ever formulated. I know the chemistry. I know why a plant does what it does, and I will not put something in a bottle because it sounds beautiful. It has to work, and then it has to be beautiful. I refuse to choose between those two things. I never have. If a tea becomes the thing you reach for at nine o'clock every night for the next 3 years, I will have done my job. If a candle just makes a hard room feel a little softer, that is enough. And if you ever want something made for you — your body, your season, the specific thing you are moving through — that is what the personal apothecary work is for. I would consider it an honor. Until then: I hope your home feels like a place you can exhale in. I hope something on your nightstand makes you feel cared for. I hope you take the ten minutes. You are worth the trouble of the good ingredients and you always will be.
With so much warmth & grattitude,
Ashton Prescott
